We meet Ben exactly a week after he was bitten and thus turned into a vampire. To call him fresh-fanged would be an understatement. Still, circumstances see him wandering into Haycrow one night and thus running into the local over-enthusiastic werewolf. Contrary to his new furry friend, Ben has been described as "a shambling mass of anxiety forming the rough approximation of a young man".

 

As you'd expect from a kid suddenly thrust into a horror movie, Ben is scared of just about everything. Spiders, bats, blood, the dark, you name it, Ben is afraid of it. Still, he's kind, caring and loyal to the last. Despite being a bloodsucking monster, Ben is a right boyscout and wound't hurt a fly if he could help it.
